AU ELECTION UPDATE: From AU Legal Advisor, Gregory Smith
AU 2022 Election Update—December 13, 2022
As previously reported, the AU will be rerunning the 2022 election using an outside, independent election services company (Honest Ballot).
Ballots will be sent out by First Class Mail this week—so please watch for them in your mail. The envelope will be marked “AMERICAN RACING PIGEON UNION ELECTION MATERIAL ENCLOSED”.
If you have a question or, for some reason require a duplicate ballot, please call Honest Ballot at 1-800-541-1851 (Mon-Fri). If you do request a duplicate ballot, the original ballot will be voided.
The official voting period will be 45 days commencing on December 22nd (to allow time for ballots to arrive). The voting period will close on February 5, 2023.
An official tabulation of submitted ballots will occur on February 17, 2023. This will provide two weeks for ballots that are post marked by February 5 to be delivered. For clarity, no ballots that are post marked after the February 5 cut off will be included in the tabulation. The tabulation will be handled by Honest Ballot, which will perform the tabulation on Zoom so it may be witnessed.
The ballots will have instructions in both English and Spanish. Please follow all the instructions carefully. You will be placing your ballot into an envelope marked “SECRET BALLOT ENVELOPE”, which itself is to be placed into the pre-addressed business reply envelope.
No postage is required.
Thank you for your patience as we have worked to put into place an objective election process which meets industry standards with regard to election security and the confidentiality of the vote.

We need fresh new blood and ideas, and officers that will lead AU and not become stagnant. I believe in Terry Finnerty running for AU President and the "Biz 6" to get the AU back on track. Please join me and consider voting for all of them when you get your ballots. Pass the word to your local clubs to do the same. Typically, the membership doesn't vote much. Please, don't let a few dictate and determine who will lead your AU organization. You need to VOTE. The AU needs to hear your voice."
